February 23, 1918

Arose 7.20 A.M., ate and turned to at 8.30.

Climbed to station in main top when we sighted a speedy tanker.

Had “Abandon Ship” drill 3 P.M.

Still blowing a gale. Calmed down at night.

Turned in at 6 P.M.
