Strong wind blowing; very heavy sea; spray carrying over decks and fo’c’s’l.
In afternoon about 2 0’clock, had four boxing matches, and music by string band, on After Well Deck.

1. fo’c’s’l (sic) is meant to be fo’c’s’le, shorthand for forecastle, the forward part of a ship’s upper deck where sailors typically live.

Weather warm, nice breeze blowing, sea calm.

Arose at 7 A.M.
Still anchored in Hampton Roads. Hauled up anchor at 3.30 P.M. and proceeded down the Bay; anchored off Fortress Monroe at 4.30 P.M.
War watch “C” went on at 8 P.M.
Hoisted anchor 9.33 P.M. and proceeded on our journey, with U.S.S. Susquehanna.
March 29, 1918
Arose at 4.30 A.M. to stand by in G.S.K. while men carried stores aboard.
Took troops aboard at noon; 400 members Quartermaster Corps and 600 members Aero Squadron.
Hoisted anchor 3 P.M. and pulled out in the stream. Anchored again 3.45 P.M.
Took our new 22 piece band aboard this date, but only brought 5 instruments with them; they claim to have been told that their instruments were aboard.
The steamer “Endeavor” pulled alongside at 10 P.M. with some heavy cable and 27 coils heavy rope for us; checked same and had men take aboard with the boom.
Turned in at 11 P.M.

Aboard all day; took on stores at 7 P.M.
Worked until 11 P.M.

Stayed aboard; ashore from 5 to 6 P.M. for some collars, trousers, etc.
March 26, 1918
Stayed aboard all day.
Went ashore 5.30 to 6.30 for walk.
